Mini Me Stop Motion Puppet - Making of
armature made from wire and wooden beads, based on 30cm scale drawing
modelled plasticine faces representing different emotions. each one has a magnet embedded which attaches to head base.
padded out armature with foam and made miniature clothes for the puppet based on my real clothing.
made miniature accessories such as jewellery and belts. shoes were initially modelled out of plasticine but this was too soft s remade them in polymer clay for durability. feet, hands and head are attached to main body with K & S tubing so that they are removable/interchangeable.
as part of a skills workshop I had a go at moulding and casting silicone hands for a stop motion puppet. this was a very good learning experience. unfortunately i lost one of these hands in transit so couldn't use them for this character. lacking the resources to recreate this process at home, I instead decided to remake the hands in felt.
