Overview
This video formed part of an installation created for my undergraduate degree show. Scream If You Wanna Go Faster was the culmination of a project in which I explored the evolution of caricature and its application in contemporary meme culture. The film features some of my first experiments in stop motion animation and large scale mask making. It was originally projected within a life size wooden punch and Judy hut.

This video was made at a preliminary stage in the project which later resulted in Scream If You Wanna Go Faster. It emulates a certain genre of mass-produced, algorithmically optimised kid’s YouTube videos. These garner views by incorporating a random mishmash of popular words, phrases, characters and topics resulting in nonsensical storylines and uncanny imagery.
This was one of my first experiences with puppetry, screening and video editing. Although I feel like my techniques could have been refined this was a useful learning experience.
