Gull About Town (2023-4)

I made this mask for fun during the christmas holidays (2023). I was inspired by a YouTube tutorial to try polycarving and make my own hot wire tool. the shape is carved out of scrap polystyrene fixed to a bike helmet. the beak was hard coated with papier mache and painted with acrylic. the fluffy texture is made from a coating of torn up cotton wool stuck on with PVA (in an attempt at recreating flocking texture).
